Our concept is to transform a designated space at the villa into a captivating walk-in sculpture. The oversized chandelier, reminiscent of an opulent sun, takes center stage. Its placement near the floor disrupts the natural horizon line, creating a sense of disorientation that draws viewers deeper into the experience. The artwork selection, displayed low on the walls – just off the floor’s line – will orbit the chandelier and further enhance the concept of hyperbolic reality.
The diverse range of artworks prepared for the exhibition by each artist will complement the theme:
Emma Szumlas with a performance piece created specifically for the opening night, focused on the chandelier and playing with the warped perspective.
Wiktoria Kieniksman with twisted and intricate pencil drawings that could be displayed on the walls and suspended from the chandelier.
Mike Bona with photographs conveying a carefree vision of everyday life, transforming the gritty reality of his family's scrapyard into a picturesque world.
Nadia Markiewicz with multimedia works that feature transformative characters and deal with issues of misfit corporeality.
Tomek Tofilski with digital print/photo manipulation works that blur the lines between reality and object, complementing the room's distorted perspective.
Kuba Stępień with a performative interdisciplinary project based on subjective research and embodied auto-theory.
Karolina Mełnicka with works examining methods used to design spaces for mass audiences, playing with materials such as crystals, glass, and light that would align with the chandelier's visual impact.
